Data Centres
HostingKit.co.uk offer colocation hosting services at the UK's most advanced data centres including Harbour Exchange in the Docklands and Telehouse Europe both providing a carrier class location in which to host your equipment.

The Harbour Exchange hosting centre was the first site to be accredited as a LINX Advanced Expansion Site and is equipped well above industry standards. Harbour Exchange is our principal colocation centre due to the extremely high requirements of LINX and the Centres’ multiple redundant network connections through several independent telecom providers. This connection redundancy allows us to manage internet connections over a number of carriers allowing traffic to be routed via several different and independent providers should one experience difficulties.

Questions

What type of server can I colocate with you?
You are free to colocate any server system you wish us such as Unix, Linux, Win2K, SUN etc. As the server is yours will simply supply world class internet connection and data centre facilities with any server system of your choice.

Are there any size restrictions for my server?
You are free to host any size server with us as our pricing is based on the amount of rack space that your server takes up. We will always work with you the client to provide a solution that fits your requirements.

How do we get our server to the data centre?
You can either arrange for delivery of the server yourself or we can arrange for pick-up and delivery as part of the service. We have excellent relationships with national courier companies that specialise in the transportation of expensive, fragile equipment.

Can you configure the server for me?
Yes – we can either give you instructions on how to configure your server before you send it to us or we can arrange for one of our on-site engineers to configure the server before installation within our centre.

Can I get additional bandwidth (data transfer) at a later date?
As your hosting requirements change overtime we are flexible in being able to grow with your requirements. Your account manager will be able to offer pricing options to increase your bandwidth levels with some of the most competitive bandwidth prices in the UK.

Do you offer any Security or Back-up Services?
Yes – because of our close relationships with all of our clients we are able to off advice and recommend the most suitable firewall and back-up services for your server. For more information please contact your account manager.

Can you Notify me if there is a problem with the server?
Yes – we are able to offer several advanced server monitoring services including e-mail, SMS and phone notification should your server or a service on your service become unavailable.

Can I colocate the server with your and have it managed by you?
Yes – based on the operating system on your server and its configuration we are able to fully manage the server to ensure it is configured and updated to run optimally for your requirements.

Are you able to offer any Server Upgrade services?
Yes – HostingKit.co.uk are able to provide services to upgrade your server with a highly skilled and qualified on-site server engineer. Your account manager will be able to offer advice and pricing options on upgrading your server.

Colocation Service Level Agreement (SLA)
Hostingkit.co.uk are able to provide a Service Level Agreement on all of our colocation services. Our standard SLA for servers colocated within our Docklands Hosting Centre is 99.975% - one of the highest in the UK today.
